Leeds band Mush have been kicking around for a good while now but they've recently signed a deal with Memphis Industries (always a good sign) and seem to have morphed from wonky noise mongers into something more nuanced and melodic. "Operation Vaken" is a sneak peak from their highly anticipated debut EP, Induction Party. It's an ode to Theresa May's habitually horrible "go home" vans and their wider historical connotations. Musically speaking they are on much lighter ground though, with jazz and post-punk elements and a middle section which feels like a series of fake crashing finales, before coming back from the dead with a welcome reprisal. A promising preview, have a listen!
