Lineup of dreams alert! King Champion Sounds return to Newcastle on Saturday 18th May. The dutch-anglo band's ecletcic punk-jazz clout, the Cluny 2's intimate space and a hefty PA are sure to  produce a sound that will literally take your face off. And not only that, support comes from top drawer local talent Swine Tax and Roxy Girls (who have just signed a deal with top drawer indie label Moshi Moshi records). Its one of those bills that you CAN NOT MISS.

Live at The Cluny 2, Newcastle

I've been a fan of Lorelle Meets The Obsolete for a while now, certainly since their 2014 album Chambers, but whilst I've thoroughly enjoyed their recorded output this would be my first experience of the band as a live outfit.

Live at The Cluny, Newcastle

Kicking things off tonight are a local power-duo Gallery Circus who treat the early arrivals to a breakneck dose of loud but slightly over-polished garage rock, seemingly aimed at the Kings Of Leon generation. It’s technically excellent but an odd match for the crowd of lo-fi aficionados eagerly awaiting headline act, The Wave Pictures. The band are touring on the back of yet another excellent LP, Beer In The Breakers, released this year without a great deal of hullabaloo to a growing batch of loyal fans.
