Haiku Salut are Gemma Barkerwood, Louise Croft and Sophie Barkerwood and last year they were commissioned to compose the score to Buster Keaton's 1926 masterpiece, The General. The band have been gradually teasing tracks from the resulting 23 track double album, and "Firewood" is the latest offering. It's an uplifting piece which straddles the line between low-key and orchestral, gradually building up the layers into something that is undeniably cinematic.

Here's the latest sneak peak from Ivan The Tolerable's forthcoming mega-double-album Rations, this one under the guise Ivan The Tolerable & The Elastic Band. Ivan The Tolerable is the long running recording alias of Middlesbrough's Oli Heffernan and the album sees the project expanded to a full band for the very first time (hopefully with live dates too).

Cloud released Live at Kulak's Woodshed earlier in the month. It's probably the greatest live album that you probably don't own. In case you need any more reasons to buy the thing here's a video of the album's peak "Mother Sea", including Tyler Taormina's unique dual drum/keyboard skills!
