Cloud (or Tyler Taormina and friends from New York’s Practise Room Records collective), have just released their marvelous debut album Comfort Songs. The record is out on London's Audio Antihero records, who are keen to point out that they don't release LPs very often (this is the first since 2011), but this one is well worth the wait. So go here and buy it. You won't be disappointed.
American Analog Set - The Fun of Watching FireworksThis album has some of the best brush drum and organ sensibility I’ve heard. I wish more people obsessed over it-- this band is mostly known for their latter sound. The song “It’s Alright” is one of my favorite closing tracks.
Beach House - Teen DreamI like this album but I feel like a really awesome band lost a crucial element when they put this one out.
Record of Sin
Death Cab for Cutie - TransatlanticismI don’t know if there’s any albums I’m ashamed to listen to. Sometimes people think of this band as watered down indie and I still really like it.
Jonathan Richman And The Modern Lovers - It’s Time For...Jonathan Richman’s playful and lighthearted musical persona will always bring me joy. Especially this album which is nostalgic to Motown. Thank you so much, Jonathan!
Kate Bush - Hounds of LoveThis album captures the mystery of it all better than the rest. I think that it’s a masterpiece. Its production value is a pleasant surprise for anyone who listens.
